Making chocolate dipped strawberries is easier than you think! Honestly! I make them all the time for myself, or to share with my husband. They don’t have to be pretty, and they always taste so good!
To make chocolate dipped strawberries:
Gather the following ingredients and kitchen tools.
- fresh strawberries (1 lb)
- chocolate chips (you choose: dark chocolate, milk chocolate or white chocolate) (1 bag)
- a double boiler insert (like the one pictured below)
- a small pan (2-4 qt)
- wax paper.
It’s pretty fantastic and most people don’t even know what it is. It’s so helpful for melting chocolate without burning it in the pan. You take the insert and place it into a small pan that has about 1-2 inches of water in it (see pic below). Then you’ll boil the water which helps melt the chocolate in the double boiler insert.
NOTE: Putting the chocolate chips directly in the pan and turning on the heat puts you at risk for burning the chocolate. So the double boiler is very handy – especially for making chocolate dipped strawberries!
Once you melt the chocolate, turn off the heat. Take your washed strawberries (dry them, too) and dip into the chocolate, covering as much or as little of the strawberry as you’d like. Place onto a sheet of wax paper and there you have it – Chocolate Dipped Strawberries! Pretty easy right? Okay, so go and make some for your sweetheart – they’ll appreciate it more than you know.
Spread love and kindness this valentine’s day and everyday. Chocolate dipped strawberries are a healthy and fun treat any time of the year really! 🙂 If you tried milk chocolate this time, next time try dark chocolate or white chocolate. Or, you can go crazy and do a mix of 2 or all 3! You can even add sprinkles to your chocolate dipped strawberries if you wanted, before the chocolate hardens. Other good toppings include: coconut flakes, finely chopped nuts, sugar, etc. You can even get creative with design if you’d like. Or, keep it simple like I did.
